If you pull the clocks out, on the multi plug there should be a red/black wire, (I think it was pin 19 on the ECU plug). Its also on the brown plug down by the old mk3 coil.

light loom should be entirely separate.

The only wires that were left attached to my engine after the carbs were the:

Battery > Starter

Alternator > Battery (I have separate feeds for alternator & starter, not piggy backed via the starter like the original setup)

Alternator D+ > Clocks

Oil Sender > Clocks

Temp > Clocks

And of course the Earths, (Head, Gearbox & Left Engine Mount)

Then I fitted the mk2 ignition loom.

Yeah we'd established that lol.

I just wanna know if I can disconnect this brown plug and lights and everything still work ok.

I just assume it has the ignition feed and such from the loom nearer the wing of fusebox instead of the one inboard

Bit that i have went from brown plug to ECU. Thats the only red/black i can find.

The one thats going to nicks coil is what you have instead of the brown plug.

I think i have it sussed as soon as i can find the other part to this brown plug. cus atm it will just be floating about in the bay and my entire ignition/fuel system will have no ignition feed and I'll have no rev counter

Thats providing it is doing as i assume? And thats main feed from ignition & revs to clocks?

I'm just gonna bell it out, it's defined an physical then rather than people saying "it's easy" and not even being able to give an answer lol

Wish i just had a MK2 to start with. Be none of this awkwardness.

I'll do a detailed write up for this when I'm done. One that can be understood by douchebags like me that don't understand wiring for shit :lol:

This is the brown plug i was looking for, which isnt brown.....

Has ignition and revs going to clocks. And a random brown wire that i think i just earthed before.

So, the lesson to be learnt, is that A, its in the lighting loom so it is relevant (as Cymro said it wasnt lol) & B, that it differs from SPI loom to GT loom.

I'll just hard wire it to that, fuck the plug off as it don't match anyway. Luckily, its already been taken out of the wrapped loom as is dangling about in the scuttle. So that saves me another job lol.

Should result in a wire free bay, besides starter/alternator/temp sensor/oil sensors/dizzy.

Just now I'm missing my revers sensor & washer motor sensor

might go wire fuel pump, AFR gauge, ignition system, limiter etc!

Nicholas, is the reverse sensor plug in the lighting loom or the engine loom? What colour is the plug and the wires?

my lighting loom had nothing to do with anything else.

ill disconnect the brown plug as I still have that in my bay and see what happens when I unplug it.

The plug on mine is black for the reversing switch.

Isnt that 3 pin plug in your picture the one for the square coil?

I dunno, i have the coil plug on my bay loom?
