basically thinking of tinting my whole headlights including the indicators yellow just wondering where i stand on the rules for this etc

short and sweet ok ill avoid them then ;/ just seen loads of people rolling with bright yellow lights.

Cant have anything on the lense that alters the brightness or colour of the light.

The bright yellow lights you see are more then likely 3k HID kits

See people say its now illegal to tint your lights but two of my mates are running yellow tinted film. One in an a3 on his headlights and All he has done is use brighter bulbs and they still come out fine

The other guy in the Arosa has done it on his indicators and again nothing wrong with the brightness ect

Tbh the laws only state that if your light pattern and output is messed up because of it it is illegal, my light output is completely fine

Yellow wouldn't effect the output much, infact it may even improve it :)

But the black and other coloured films will effect the output, but not by much.

Only yellow and white lights are allowed as headlights so I would say tinting them yellow is fine.

Basically put, it's not the tint it self that makes it illegal, it's what the tint does to the colour of the light output.

You are only allowed to have white or yellow light output, therefore you can use yellow bulbs as long as they are e-marked of course.

If the tint alters the colour or beam of the light it then becomes illegal (Anything other than yellow or white)

so i might tint my headlights yellow then with yellow bulbs.... i want hid's but as these are fails not worth it.

just to add to this my car passed its mot with the above tinting last week after the supposed new rules are being enforced so its legal yooooooooooo
