I really like the rear lights on the polo 9N3 and would love to fit a set to my 9N and i'm wondering if it's possible to do so and what amount of work would be required? would I need to buy new panels? All opinions are welcome! Tell me what you think :)

if i remember correctly lights themselfs are abstraight swap just the wiring is abit diffrent, if you search on google I'm sure you could find a guid on how to do it

Yes they fit straight on. But u think either the connector are different or they are the same but one of the pins need to be swap with another pin. There are a few guides on here but you will have to search for them. I think they are in the FAQ section.

I'm going to be looking at doing this soon, there was a person on here who made connectors which made the headlights a straight swap and plug&play but i dont think hes active, i wouldnt mind getting hold of one of those clips

I remember reading that, but I think it turned out that they could have just swaped over the pins in the connectors.

Although if you had them then test fitting wouldn't hurt, even I'd you went to a breakers and asked if you could test fit before buying, if the connector fits then it's simple, if it doesn't then ask for the connectors from te donor car, then solder them on, this way you will have two connectors so changing back to stock would be easy.

they fit directly onto the car, They have a few different pins to the 9n lights so say you put the hazards on your revers light will flash on and off i think. There was a connector for sale on Ukpolos.net to make them the correct way around. Have a look and see what you can find.

One thing I will say is that when it's dark and you have th 9n3 rears on they look a lot more menacing than the 9n rears! I think for that reason alone I'll probably end up fitting them :)

Yes fit them, I've been looking to do it for ages, some old chap up the road whos got a 9n3 for a daily runner has offered to swap for free if i do the wiring. I have a link saved for this, ill try find it now and post the tutorial that states what wire is what.

I hadl LEDs in mine that went along the bottom and two lines going up, so at night it lit up as a smiley face on each side looked awesome, but I couldn't remove them when the car barbecued itself, so you never know you might find them on a breakers shelf somewhere?

Yeah I think they are a lot better but it's just hard to picture things on your car until you actually have them and put them on. That's why I'm so reluctant to buy expensive wheels because I can never tell how they are going to look until you buy them :/ And that is awesome man! I would love smileys in my tail lights! Haha, which breakers did you take it to, any idea?

Unfortunatly I don't know as the car had an engine bay fire and the highway police called a recover truck that took it somewhere and the insurance must have took it from there, I did try and buy the salvage back as tere was still some bits that where okay ie rear end parts door etc. I was in north London/Watford area at te time so could be anywhere around there. But you neve know?

I think it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack to be honest, for all we know it could have been crushed. It's a shame though.

I think i'll just get some standard ones to be honest see how they look then possibly tamper with them later :]

i wanna do this, there was a user making clusters that made the lights a simple plug&play.

i will at some point try do this myself too
