I remember nearly selling a mk3 one but I'm sure I've still got it? I didn't think the mk3 one was the same as a late mk2, checking the oracle as we speak...

Part numbers for the mk2 and mk3 (mk2f if you prefer) are everso slightly different:

mk2 868721115B

mk2f 868721115E

I was thinking that I needed the late mk2 one as it has the brake switch on it but I think now that the switch is mounted to the car as the mk2 pedal box part number seems to be the same 81 through 90 and it's just the pedals that are different,

mr melon - did I sell you one with a view to you fitting it to a mk2, or mk2f? And how did you get on with fitting it?

Will a MK3 one fit an early MK2?

Looking to fit a 22mm m/c and the breakers round here only have MK3's.

The one I have spare is an early mk2 polo one with-out the brake light switch.

From what I can gather you can't put a mk3 pedal box on a mk2, the bulkhead differences cause problems.

I believe a mk3 (and therefore a 22mm) master cylinder will fit a mk2, run a remote fluid reservoir and you're away?

Just to be on the safe side, I'm just looking for a later mk2 pedal box, where the swich for the brakes is on the pedals.

I was going to say that late ones have the switch mounting. Found that out when I wanted to mount a late switch in mine. Had to make an small plate up to hold the brake switch in. Certainly a difference
