Hi, just looking for some advice, just before I got my GTi the muppets i got it from replaced/repaired the ABS pump as the light was on. The car came back with the light behaving properly bur pedal travel almost to floor!! I changed the fluid using new DOT4 and there was an improvement bur still more travel than i'd like, its also worth pointing out that the fluid i got out of the car was GREEN! (well shitty green, I can only assume that it was something like Citroen LHM maybe?)

Anyway I have just changed discs and pads all round and bedded in properly (about 1000 miles now). This morning had to "slam-on" and the ABS cut in, all was well and pulled up ok but the pedal was on the floor. So, do I need to re-bleed or maybe i just cant use an ezi-bleed? Sorry for long drawn out question.

To bleed the system correctly you need VCDS/Vagcom to put the ABS unit into a set mode, have a look at this http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=333576#entry2624931 I've put a document on the procedure
