Anyway here is how it looks now

some differences but fundamentally still the same old white coupe we all love

now usually at this point people start to reel off what the plans are, well at the moment the only plans I have are to pass my driving test and to get insured. I feel bad that the car's inactive for a couple of months, but it came up at the right price and I couldn't really say no. That said, when I do pass I'll probably be doing a few things to it, I've got a lot of time to think though, but I will definitely be having the smoked headlights. Seeing as I'm in the best place for old Polo info, can anybody recommend me some mods? Just give me ideas, if anything just give me 'if that were mine I'd...'

All jokes aside personally, if I didn't have a license I would tidy it up (spray it where it got patches)

As a new driver wack a 60/40 phil j kit on it

Some tidy wheels 13/14 inch and get used to driving then later down the line make it your own

if it were mine i'll be pulling the engine and whacking a 16v in it

in seriousness tho i'd just tidy up the body work and chuck a tidy set of wheels on it and a GT/G40?genesis steering wheel. it's mostly all there, got a decent little spec on it and only really let down by the untidyness of the body work. it's already got a lot of the mods that people normally go with (clear indys, late specs rear lights, badgeless grill, lowered, sporty seats, rev counter clocks).

Screw the bodywork. This was how i went about my first car. Decent stereo (cant stand bad stereos, none is even worse), Replaced most mechanical parts (so was ultra reliable)and crashed it (it WILL happen eventually, as with most new drivers).

I'm in the same boat as you pal, polo came up at an amazing price, not passed yet, super eager to get going...

have a look in my build thread, i plan on doing a 1.4 TSI CAVE conversion, next year or something similar.

Cheers for the comments lads, I think yeah the bodywork definitely is the first port of call as far as work is concerned lol. A couple of my friends came up today, one of them owns a low Ibiza and one owns a nice camera, go figure...
